A waiter in Texas, who said he was down on his luck, was tipped $700 by patrons.

Jon Reed, a server at Chuy’s restaurant in Plano, had previously told some customers who knew him that he was behind on his rent.

“They were like, ‘You look really tired man,’” Reed said, KDFW-TV reported. “I was like, ‘Well I’ve been working a lot.’ They were like, ‘Well how far behind are you?’ I was like, ‘Pretty far.’ And that’s kind of the extent of the conversation I wanted to go through with them.”

The customers then decided to leave a $700 tip on their $40 tab.
