Overall factory activity in the Lone Star state continued to expand at a solid pace in September, though there was softening in some specific manufacturing gauges along with a rise in reports of supply-chain problems, according to a Dallas Fed survey.

Texas business executives responding to the monthly Dallas Fed Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey, released Sept. 27, highlighted growth in shipments, employment, and capacity utilization in helping lift the headline production index—a key measure of manufacturing conditions in Texas. The production index rose to a reading of 24.2 in September, up 3.4 percentage points from 20.8 in August.
