Swimsuit designers finally did what many of us already have done, or at least have desperately wanted to do—mix and match tops and bottoms from their bikini collections. Prevailing in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion week shows were intentionally different bikini tops that did not necessarily match the bottoms. Asymmetry, reflected in the mismatched bikinis, and cover-ups along with bold colorful prints were favorite themes for 2011 summer collections.
