Dr. Dre is accused of attempting to murder hip-hop peer, Suge Knight in a 2014 nightclub shooting, according to newly released court documents

Thaddeus Culpepper, the lawyer for Suge Knight (real name Marion Knight Jr.), filed a motion with the Los Angeles Superior Court alleging that Dr. Dre (real name Andre Young) worked in conjunction with Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Henry Boyd in order to have Knight killed.

Knight, the “Death Row” boss, alleges that in the early morning of Aug. 24, 2014—the day of the MTV Video Music Awards—Boyd, who was working the door of West Hollywood’s hotspot, 1 Oak, allowed the Tee-Money, the gunman who allegedly shot Knight six times, to enter the Chris Brown-hosted pre-MTV Video Music Awards party.

According to the court document, “The shooter confessed that Dr. Dre paid him and a friend $50K for the hit,” and that Boyd “was seen on video letting the gunmen in the front door of 1 Oak.”

Culpepper also states there is video showing Boyd assisting the gunman to leave the country.

Knight, who is facing an attempted murder charge and murder charge is currently incarcerated. In the parking lot of Tam’s Burgers, Suge Knight is seen on surveillance running over Cle ‘Bone’ Sloan and Terry Carter. Terry Carter died as a result of his injuries.

According to Culpepper, Knight’s murder case is interfering with the allegations brought against Dr. Dre. Culpepper states that Knight has had most of his privileges taken away—no mail, phone calls, or visits—as a way for Knight to not “connect” the two cases together.

Knight’s trial is set to begin the first day of August.

Dr. Dre calls the allegations “ridiculous.
