Stefanía Fernández, former Miss Universe, posed in a crown but gagged and bound to help highlight the crisis of violence in Venezuela.

Fernandez was crowned Miss Universe in 2009.

In the photos, she also appears to be covered in blood and filth.

The photos are part of a campaign called Your Voice is Your Power, which takes aim at the oppression of media in the nation.

Photographer Daniel Bracci also took photos of other Venezuelans for the campaign, uploading some to Instagram with the hashtag #MordazasEnVenezuela (#GaggedInVenezuela).

“This campaign started because something directly affected me, when my grandfather passed away because of the hampa (the underworld-like situation) taking place in Venezuela,” Bracci told South American news outlet Informe 21.
