“Star Wars” actor and dialect coach Andrew Jack has died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the CCP virus, according to a representative. He was 76.
His spokeswoman, Jill McCullough, told TMZ and other news outlets that he died in a hospital near London after contracting the disease.
His wife could not be there for Jack, who was born Andrew Hutchinson, as she is also in quarantine, McCullough told the news outlet.
Jack appeared in the “Star Wars” film series portraying Caluan Ematt in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” As a coach, he worked with Robert Downey Jr. on several films, Cate Blanchett, Viggo Mortensen, and more.
According to his IMDB page, he worked on “Avengers: Endgame,” “Robin Hood,” “Sherlock Holmes,” “Alien v. Predator,” “Lord of the Rings,” “Die Another Day,” “Eastern Promises,” “Captain America,” “Men in Black: International,” and in many other films.
The United Kingdom has reported 25,000 cases of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus and more than 1,700 deaths as of Tuesday afternoon. The virus first emerged in mainland China late last year.
On Sunday, longtime country singer Joe Diffie, who won a Grammy Award, died from the CCP virus.
“Joe Diffie passed away today, Sunday, March 29 from complications of coronavirus (COVID-19). His family requests privacy at this time,” reads a post on his Facebook page. Diffie said he tested positive on Friday, March 27.
“I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment,” Diffie said in a statement at the time. “My family and I are asking for privacy at this time.”
