The first official trailer for “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” was released Friday.
However, the trailer doesn’t show all that much--likely on purpose. There’s no details on the plot, characters, or much else.
JJ Abrams, the director of the film, has reportedly been very secretive about leaking any information about the movie.
It was until a few months ago that the final cast was revealed to the media.
The trailer shows Rebel X-Wings, a droid rolling around on a ball, Empire Storm Troopers, and what appears to be a Sith or a Jedi activating a light-saber.
The film will be released December 2015.
The seventh installment of the franchise will feature John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.
Said Abrams in April, “We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”
