ESPN will feature the finals of the Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday night.

The winner of the spelling bee will take home more than $30,000 in prizes.

In the competition this year, 281 spellers between the ages of 8 and 14, converging around Washington D.C. The children are from all 50 states, including various U.S. territories, Canada, Italy, Jamaica, Ghana, and China.

The semifinals will air between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST on Thursday and the championship round will take place 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“The Scripps National Spelling Bee is not only a competition but also a celebration of the English language,” said Paige Kimble, director of the Scripps National Spelling Bee in a release last month. “We will continue to foster, leverage and grow our opportunity to inspire children to improve their spelling and increase their vocabularies through the Scripps National Spelling Bee.”
