HONG KONG —The HKFA BOC Life Premier League weekend opened with the Aberdeen Sports Ground match between HKFC and Kwoon Chung Southern (Oct 22), followed by the game between Hong Kong Pegasus and Kitchee at Hong Kong Stadium. On Sunday’s (Oct 23) KMB Yuen Long met Eastern Long Lions at Yuen Long Stadium, and R&F played Wo Foo Tai Po at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground, and on  Monday (Oct 24) South China played Lee Man Rangers at Mongkok Stadium.

In the weekend’s opening game at Aberdeen Sports Ground, Kwoon Chung Southern collected their first win of the season to climb out of the relegation places with a 7-nil defeat of HKFC.

Kwoon Chung Southern opened the scoring in the 10th minute when, after a save by HKFC goalkeeper Issey Maholo, the resultant corner from Micheal Luk was headed on before Roberto Fronza headed in at the far post, and then doubled their lead in the 26th minute when another Micheal Luk corner was converted by Vaz Walter. Wellingsson da Souza added a third goal in the 34th minute for a 3-nil half time lead.

Kwoon Chung Southern ended the contest in a 10 second half minute period with a 54th minute Olivier Ngue finish from Hui Wang-fung’s cross, Liang Zicheng’s 59th minute conversion from a Wellingsson Da Souza pass, and a 63rd minute run down the right wing by Wellingsson da Sousa that culminated with a shot past HKFC goalkeeper Maholo. Kwoon Chung Southern completed the win, and HKFC’s heaviest defeat of the season, when Liang Zicheng fed Wellingsson Da Souza who rounded Issey Maholo in the 80th minute for a final 7-nil victory. 

Saturday’s (Oct 22) other game at Hong Kong Stadium, saw Kitchee increase their lead at the top of the table with a 3-1 victory over Hong Kong Pegasus. Kitchee opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Fernando Pedreira scored direct from a free kick past goalkeeper Kristijan Naumovski, and doubled their lead in the 22nd minute when full back Daniel Cancela advanced into the penalty box from the left wing, to shoot into the net.

Although Hong Kong Pegasus pulled a goal back in the 41st minute when Joao Emir scored from the penalty spot following a handball in the box, Kitchee restored their 2 goal lead in the 52nd minute when Alessandro Leonardo converted Daniel Cancela’s cross for a 3-1 lead which they comfortably held until the end of the game.

In Sunday’s opening game at Yuen Long Stadium, the game was goalless until half time, when Jaimes Mckee scored for Eastern Long Lions in the 47th minute from the rebound after Manuel Rodriguez’s header was saved by goalkeeper Pang Tsz-kin. KMB Yuen Long equalised in the 69th minute when Diego Higino headed in Aleksander Randelovic’s cross, but Eastern Long Lions managed to snatch victory in the 93rd minute when Michel Lugo headed in Ju Yingzhi’s free kick for the winner.  .

In Sunday’s other game,  Wo Foo Tai Po won 2-nil against R&F courtesy of a brace from Lucas Da Silva, the first a 32nd minute penalty kick after goalkeeper Xing Yu’s foul in the penalty box, and an 88th minute conversion of  Chen Liming’s cross from the right wing..

In Monday’s game South China needed a win against Lee Man Rangers to keep pace with Kitchee and Eastern Long Lions but, although twice taking the lead, succumbed to two equalisers and a late double to lose ground. South China took the lead in the 4th minute when Nikola Komazc scored after Lee Man Rangers had failed to deal with Leung Kwun-cheung’s cross. Lee Man Rangers were soon back on level terms after a corner from Chow Cheuk-fung to Wong Chuw-hin was crossed for Lai Yui-cheong to head home. South China restored their led in the 29th minute when Law Hui-cheung fed Nikola Komatec who raced on goal before firing into the net. The game stayed at 2-1 until half time. After both sides traded chances, Lee Man Rangers again equalised in the 70th minute when Tse Long-hin delivered a long ball to Hui ka-lok who fired the ball into the net. After another exchange of chances, Lee Man Rangers managed to produce a couple of sucker punches to win their first game of the season and move out of the relegation zone. First, Law Chun-yan fed Lai Yiu-cheong in the 90th minute, and he advanced before crossing for Law Chun –yan to head home, and then Lai Yiu-cheong ran through in the 94th minute to score a sensational winner.

Kitchee lead the table with 16 points from 6 matches, with Eastern Long Lions second with 13 points from 5 matches, and Hong Kong Pegasus and South China joint third on 8 points, from 6 and 5 games respectively.        

In the round of first division matches Sun Hei were 1-nil victors over Eastern District, Double Flower were 3-nil winners against Wanchai, Easyknit Property won 3-nil against Shatin,Kwai Tsing were 4-1 victors over Yau Tsim Mong, Wong Tai Sin were 5-nil winners against Citizen, Tung Sing were 6-nil victors over Metro Gallery, and Kwun Tong were 2-nil winners against Resource Capital FC.

Sun Hei lead the table with 19 points from 7 matches, with Wong Tai Sin second on 18 points, and Easyknit Property 3rd on 16 points both from the same games..

In the 2nd division, Central & Western 3-1 were victors over Tuen Mun, HKU CXSC Sun Source were 5-1 winners against Sai Kung, Sham Shui Po won 2-1 against Sham Shui Po, Lucky Mile were 1-nil victors over Kowloon City, Tuen Mun FC were 3-1 winners against Kwong Wah, and Sparta Rotterdam Mutual won 4-1 against Kwok Keung Linkers ONC..

Hoi King and Central & Western lead the table with 16 points from their 7 games, with Kowloon Cty third with 14 points, and Tuen Mun fourth with 13 points all from the same games.

In the round of third division games, Ornament drew nil-all with Fukien, KCDRSC were 9-nil winners against King Mountain, GFC Friends won 2-1 against Islands, New Fair Kui Tan were 6-2 victors over Tsuen Wan, Wng Go Fu Moon were 3-2 winners against Leaper St Josephs, and Happy Valley won 4-nil against V Sports.

Happy Valley lead the table with 20 points from 8 matches, with Ornament 2nd with 16 points from the same matches, and 4 teams chasing on 13 points from 8 and 7 games.    

Yau Yee League

In the 6th round of first division matches, Albion were 3-1 victors over Colts  in the Sports road derby which ended Colts unbeaten run, Wanderers were 3-nil winners against  Colloids FC, Baker Tilly Spartans drew 1-all with Squadron, Swiss Xi won 3-nil against KCC Knights, and French Kiss were 2-1 victors over KCC Dragons.

Wanderers lead the table with 16 points, Colts are 2nd with 13 points, and Albion and KCC Dragons 3rd with 10 points, all from 6 games.

In the second division, GGFC were 6-nil victors over White Youth FC, ANP were 3-nil winners against Grasshoppers, WYFC06 won 2-1 against HKU70’s, Azzurri were -nil victors over CSOB, Dynamo were 3-2 winners against Hearts FC, and CSOB won 7-nil against IES,

Azzurri are league leaders with 16 points, with Dynamo 2nd with 13 points.

In the third division, Power22 drew nil-all with  HKSS, University were 4-2 winners against Darts, Goal Visio won 3-2 against Outward Bound, Friends of Barclays were 7-2 victors over Scorpions, Antonhill were 3-nil winners against Maccabi HK, and Yan Po won 1-nil against HOB..

Antonhill lead the table with 16 points from 6 matches, with Yan Po and Maccabi HK 2nd with 15 points, both from the same games.

In the fourth division, BOC were 3-nil victors over Green Cypress FC, Ghurkha international drew 1-all with Standard Chartered, WYFC84 won  against CAPS, Bapcoll were 3-2 winners against Hung Art, and Corinthians won 3-1 against Skyline.

BOC lead the table with 14 points from 6 matches, Green Cypress FC 2nd with 12 points from the 5 games, and Gurkha International and Corinthians joint 3rd with 10 points from 6 games each.
