Solange and Beyonce Knowles skipped their dad’s wedding in Houston because, as their father said, they had previous engagements.
“Unfortunately, Beyonce and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend,” father Mathew Knowles told TMZ.
Knowles got married to Gena Avery in Houston, Texas, over the weekend after they were engaged for 18 months.
Beyonce recently started out her “Mrs. Carter Show” tour and Solange recently performed at the Glastonbury Festival on June 28, according to the International Business Times.
Matthew Knowles was a former manager of Beyonce and her Destiny’s Child group, selling more than 60 million albums. However, Beyonce and her father parted ways after he stopped managing her in 2011.
“I’ve only parted ways with my father on a business level,” Beyonce told Us Weekly. “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother [Tina Knowles] manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”
