Shogun Rua was robbed at gunpoint in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, according to reports on Friday.
MMA Fighting reported that he was carjacked and robbed earlier this month. Manager Eduardo Alonso told the website that hi shoes, shirt, and friend’s car were taken.
“They said ‘I know who you are, you’re a fighter. Don’t try anything,'” Alonso told the website. “It was a sad situation.”
Rua and his friend were driving on Linha Vermelha, considered a dangerous spot in Brazil.
“Imagine a guy his size asking for a ride in the middle of the night,” Alonso told the website. He had to walk without a shirt and shoes for about a mile.
