TAIPEI, Taiwan—Former singer and actress, Chou Su-Jie, and now an inspirational speaker, attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts performance at Sun Yat-sem Memorial Hall on Feb. 25. She said that Shen Yun was like sweet rain that nourishes life and wisdom.
This was her second time watching Shen Yun. She commented on the dancing, saying: “It’s not easy to be creative with dancing, and Shen Yun’s creative director did a excellent job and covered all the details.”
She recalled various aspects of the programs. “The special 3-D effect of the backdrop made me feel as if I was in the scene, without having to wear the 3-D goggles. The conversations of the masters of ceremonies were so interesting. It’s not often you see Westerners speak such fluent Chinese. The Western emcee even introduced the orchestra with a sense of style.”
“I like the special effect on the backdrop where water splashed from the Flowing Sands River in the story Sand Monk is Blessed. The music when the rabbit appeared in the dance When Shaolin Monks Protected the Emperor was so detailed and matched seamlessly with the dance moves. It was overwhelming seeing the brilliant dazzling colors on the big skirts of the Yi girls in The Inspired Dance of the Yi. The backdrop, the stage prop, and the music incorporated perfectly in An Unexpected Encounter when the camera was clicking.” Ms. Chou said.
She did not miss Shen Yun’s artists’ costumes, saying: “The design and the aesthetics were stunning. The colors were matched in a creative yet harmonious way. They even matched the spirit and the theme of each story. Truly amazing!”
“The performance nourishes the soul. People nowadays need this kind of relaxing and beautiful art. Shen Yun puts so much work into the performance and I only had to spend a little money to see it. Unless the tickets are sold out, I will buy the most expensive ticket because I believe this kind of creative art work needs support. I will definitely come back next year!”
In conclusion, Ms. Chou indicated that Shen Yun took care of the society in the most delightful way. “Everyone should contribute to the society in their own way. If you have beauty, then bring others the beauty. If you can bring out the wisdom of others, do that and help others to become wiser.”
