There are lots we have been hearing about Samsung’s latest offering. None of them is confirmed by Samsung however. There’re leaked reports, rumors, “hopes” and cases of unauthorized personnel talking to newspapers. Well the hype and anticipation is certainly there, let’s see what we have till now.
One of the most talked about features in Samsung S IV is the eye-tracking technology. When the user reads towards the end of the page, the screen will automatically scroll down to the next section without having to touch the display. Samsung has apparently filed for a trademark in the United States on both “Samsung Eye Scroll” and “Eye Pause,” reports the New York Times.
Samsung has also reportedly partnered with Visa to provide online payment via Visa’s PayWave mobile payment applet.
The specifications as far as we know: Exynos 5 Octa (8-Core) CPU, Mali-T678 (8-Core) GPU, 4.99-inch SuperAMOLED full HD display, 2GB RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capability, 2-megapixel front facing camera, and featuring Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Samsung’s own security software, Knox, is embedded into the device. The eight core processor would be split into two groups for energy saving. The Galaxy S IV would be released in two colors initially – black and white with each color version having three different variants based on storage capacity; for example, 16, 32 and 64 GB. The device is likely to have a dimension of 140.1 x 71.8 x 7.7 mm, weighing 138 gram.
Samsung posted a teaser video of the Galaxy S IV. And the invitations are also sent for the unveiling in Times Square, New York on March 14 at 7 PM ET with a live stream on Samsung mobile’s YouTube page.
Had enough of rumors? I don’t think so. Samsung’s Project J, which was what we all assumed the code-name for the new S IV, will actually yield a Galaxy S IV mini and a Galaxy Smartwatch.
