Two Russian crew members from the International Space Station (ISS) are doing a spacewalk on Friday, and enthusiasts can watch it live.

Fyodor Yurchikhin and Alexander Misurkin, the cosmonauts, are preparing the ISS for the arrival of a new laboratory this year.

The crew members will spend several hours doing the spacewalk.

“They plan to continue routing power and Ethernet cables for the future arrival of the Russian Multipurpose Laboratory Module, which will be launched aboard a Proton rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan,” NASA said in a statement, obtained by RIA Novosti.

The cables will provide data and power to the laboratory.

“They also will install on the Poisk module a panel of experiments designed to collect data on the effects of the microgravity environment in low-Earth orbit,” NASA continued.

According to Space.com, Yurchikhin and Misurkin will wear Russian Orlan spacesuits during the spacewalk.

It will be the seventh spacewalk for Yurchikhin and the second one for Misurkin.

There are six crew members on board the ISS--three Russians, two Americans, and an Italian.

Rotating crews have lived on the ISS continuously for the past 13 years.
