Former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has opted not to contest allegations that he made false statements in a defamation lawsuit brought against him by two Georgia election workers, though his adviser says it’s a legal tactic to move the case forward to where he can file a motion to dismiss.

According to a court document (pdf) filed on Tuesday evening in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the former New York City mayor did not dispute that he made “false” and “defamatory” statements about two Georgia election workers who he claimed had engaged in election fraud while counting ballots during the 2020 presidential election.
