Puerto Rican pop star Ricky Martin appeared during the presentation of a study about human trafficking at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan on Monday—representing his child advocacy organization the Ricky Martin Foundation.
The study highlighted the proliferation of human trafficking on the island. Martin said, “This is happening on our island. We cannot turn our back on the victims.”
