“Revolution” Season 3 won’t happen as NBC canceled the two after only two seasons, according to a report this month.

Deadline.com reported that the show, which was popular during its first season but trailed off, won’t be back.

“The JJ Abrams/Eric Kripke post-apocalyptic drama is long ways from where it was last season when it was riding high with a lot of buzz and solid ratings behind ‘The Voice’ on Mondays,” Deadline.com said in the report.

The show started to lose people after the break between the fall and spring half-season.

According to the report, the show’s cost was hefty and the numbers it was pulling in on Wednesday at 8 p.m. weren’t enough for NBC.

NBC also got two new series including comic book-based “Constantine.”

TV.com says that the show’s creators wrote the series finale as if it were just a normal season ender.

“Creator Eric Kripke and his writing staff obviously penned the Season 2 finale on a wave of optimism, with hope that the series would earn a third season, because ‘Declaration of Independence’ was left wide open with a clear idea of what Season 3 would’ve looked like (or as much of an idea that can come out of a Revolution writers’ room),” TV.com says.

So as a result, the finale was seen as a disappointment due to it being canceled.

Fans of the show have launched a petition to try to get another network to pick it up. User Kaysi L, who launched the petition–which has grabbed more than 13,200 signatures–says that it’s targeted at Netflix, AMC, TNT, SyFy, USA, FX, CBS, ABC, CW, etc.

“Revolution is an amazing show that has sadly been cancelled by NBC. We are trying to get this series to continue on another network!” she said.
