A dramatic rescue of a woman from the floodwaters in Conroe, Texas was caught on camera.
The woman was surrounded by floodwaters while in a van off the highway in Conroe, 40 miles north of Houston, when a group of people brought her a ladder that allowed her to get to safety.
The rescuers had to hold on to each other as they extended the ladder to the woman so that they wouldn’t get washed away.
The ladder was extended to the van, and the woman was able to crawl out of the van to safety.
Although the worst is over, dangerous flooding still occurs in some parts of Texas. This week saw two dead and two missing as a result of flooding in the county of Washington, between Austin and Houston.
The Washington County seat, Brenham, received 16.62 inches of rain Thursday, breaking the city’s daily rainfall record, said National Weather Service meteorologist Wendy Long.
In a number of Texas counties, residents have received flash flood warnings for this weekend.
