Recall: Corona Extra Beer May Contain Small Particles of Glass

Constellation Brands’s beer division has issued an immediate voluntary recall of certain beer products.

Corona Extra 12-ounce clear bottles with U.S. deposit labels may contain small particles of glass. Both 12-packs and 18-packs of the product are affected, said a March 9 statement. 

The company emphasizes that the recall is “limited in scope,” estimating only “1 in 5,000” bottles to be defective. Consumers can verify if the products in their possession have been affected by comparing the items’ production codes against this list. The 8-digit alphanumeric code is printed on the case packaging and on necks of bottles.

Production codes ending with four or eight may be included in the recall. Constellation Brands
