Ravens conflict: The Baltimore Ravens might have play on the road to start the season due to a conflict of schedules.

Despite winning the Super Bowl, the Baltimore Ravens might be forced to play their home opener away from home, the team announced via Twitter on Monday.

It was reported there is a scheduling conflict with the Baltimore Orioles, meaning that it could be the first time in a decade that a Super Bowl-wining team played an away game for its season opener.

The Ravens on Twitter, however, said that an NFL official described having them play an away game to start the season as the “least desirable” option.

“We’ve made contact with the Orioles,” Ravens team president Dick Cass told the Baltimore Sun in February. “We recognize the issue. We are confident we can work it out with the Orioles.”

The Orioles host the White Sox on Sept. 5 at 7:05 p.m. The Ravens and the Orioles can’t play at the same time due to the location of the two stadiums.

Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner, and MLB commissioner Bug Selig are reportedly in talks to find a resolution, but no official word has been given out yet.

“We think that’s the right thing,” Goodell said on Tuesday, according to Yahoo Sports. “We’ve agreed to move the game a little bit later in the evening to try to accommodate the baseball game. We think it'd be a great day.”

Goodell added: “The only (other) option is to take the Ravens on the road. We think that’s wrong for the Ravens fans, so we wouldn’t want that to happen.”
