The 90ft Super Maxi Ragamuffin 90 chipped four minutes off the record of the biennial Audi Hong Kong to Vietnam Race organised by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club last weekend.
Ragamuffin 90, jointly owned by Geoff Hill and Syd Fischer, finished the race in 42:41:20, but it was the TP 52 Lucky, owned and skippered by Bryan Ehrhart, who took the overall race title on corrected time.
Australian registered boat OneSails Racing took second place in the IRC Racing-0 Class, with Hong Kong’s Sam Chan in third with his TP52 FreeFire.
Ragamuffin 90 was fourth on corrected time, while Australian registered Chivas, the other Super Maxi in the race, finished in fifth place.
Island Fling won the IRC Racing-1 Class title, followed by kukuKERchu, Signal 8 and Surfdude respectively.
Anthony Root’s Red Kite II took line honours and first place on corrected time in IRC Racing-2 Class, ahead of Sell Side Dream.
The only other boats to finish the race were IRC Premier Class Sea Money and catamaran Mach 2.
