Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas won their third Grand Am Rolex Sports car Series championship in a row, Pruett’s fifth overall and the fourth for Rojas. The pair finished seventh in the no. 01 Telmex-Ganassi Riley BMW in Saturday’s Grand Am Championship Weekend at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, earning enough points for the title.

Pruett and Rojas, at one point the dominant team in the Rolex series, had to struggle for wins this year; they only took two victories, but were far more consistent than any of their competitors.

“This has been an incredibly difficult and challenging season. We had to dig deep. We didn’t have the fastest car, so we had to right for every point in the championship.” Pruett told grand-Am.com.

Ricky Taylor and Max Angelelli in the no. 10 SunTrust Dallara-Corvette won the race by a scant 0.334 seconds from Richard Westbrook and Antonio Garcia in the no. 90 Spirit of Daytona Coyote-Corvette.

Ryan Dalziel, second in the championship, finished sixth.
