Prince William and Kate Middleton have been on a “babymoon” in Scotland for the past few days, and it was apparently at the behest of Queen Elizabeth II, who wanted the couple to stop fighting, according to a report on Monday.

A gossip website claims that the couple has been separated from one another, with Kate staying at her parents’ home during her pregnancy.

“Never let it be said that Prince William wasn’t trying to salvage his marriage and end the rumored separation, which is more than you can say of Prince Charles. Prince William and Kate Middleton may have managed to hide it from the press, the media, and the public, but it’s becoming clearer and clearer that their marriage isn’t doing so hot,” claims Celeb Dirty Laundry, a gossip site with a spotty record.

The site cites “our sources” and it says they’ve “assured CDL that the main reason for the trip is to attempt a reconciliation.”

“Furthermore, Queen Elizabeth is said to be behind William’s wooing of his angry wife. I’m sure that Prince William will succeed – unlike Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Kate and Will seem genuinely fond of each other, and not just in a ‘we’re-stuck-together’ type of way,” it adds.

Celeb Dirty Laundry hasn’t always been accurate in its reporting but it did persist with reports about Kate’s pregnancy before the royal family made its official announcement a few weeks ago that the Duchess will have a child.

There’s been conflicting rumors about the royal couple, however, as a few days ago, a tabloid claimed that William “gave up the throne” out of love for Kate.

“In a shocking announcement, Prince William stunned the Royal Family by revealing he’s giving up the Throne for the love of his pregnant wife Kate,” said Globe magazine, which didn’t offer much more information other than an excerpt.

And regarding the couple’s getaway at Scotland’s Balmoral Castle, “William wanted to take Kate away for a break after her rough past couple of months,” a source also said, according to Us Magazine. “They both love the outdoors and the weather isn’t too cold yet, so it’s the perfect time to take a trip.”

“It’s great that George is now at an age where he can travel,” the insider continued.

Kate has been dealing with intense morning sickness for the past couple of weeks.
