Pope Francis tweeted about chemical weapons on September 3, saying he condemns their use.
The tweet from the Pope, who has almost 3 million followers on Twitter, comes as U.S. officials debate whether they will strike Syria after alleged use of chemical weapons by Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.
“With utmost firmness I condemn the use of chemical weapons,” said the Pope on Twitter at 12:15 p.m. EDT.

The Catholic leader has recently tweeted about wanting a peaceful world and about how much suffering, devastation, and pain the use of arms has inflicted.
