A train conductor in Poland is being praised for his quick thinking in warning passengers that a truck was in the way.

The conductor, Mateusz Szymanski, ran down the carriage, warning passengers they’re about to crash into the truck.

About three seconds later, the train, which was passing through a rural area in Poland at 60 mph, crashed into the truck, according to ITV. The truck had broken down on the tracks and couldn’t move.

Passengers are believed to have avoided injury due to the conductor’s quick thinking.

A video captured the incident, which occurred April 19. The footage was released on Friday, May 13.

Szymanski told TVN24 that he pulled the emergency brakes and rushed to warn passengers. “We can say he almost certainly saved passengers from injuries,” Krzysztof Ryfa, a railway director, said, according to the Press Association.
