A knife found buried at the former estate of OJ Simpson will be tested, in the latest update in the murder case of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

The folding buck knife was found by a construction worker, although the date on which he found it is unclear, sources told TMZ.

The worker took the knife to the street and gave it to a LAPD officer.

But the officer, who was off-duty, took the knife home and kept it. The existence of the knife emerged after the officer retired and contacted a friend still working for the department, asking for the department record number for the murder case, because he wanted to frame the knife and include the number in the frame.

It will be moved to the Serology Unit next week, where it will be tested for DNA and other biological evidence.
