NEW WINDSOR— The Brigade of the American Revolution, an international non-profit dedicated to recreating military life during the Revolutionary War (1775 to 1783), held its 54th annual “School of the Soldier” event April 23-24. The group’s founding members had their first meeting in a cabin at the New Windsor Cantonment Site, said Grant Miller, site manager of Fort Montgomery, and every spring they come back to do an event at the site. The two-day event, held at General Knox’s Headquarters and the New Windsor Cantonment Site, included military demonstrations and presentations on different aspects of life during the Revolutionary War.
