A New Yorker busted during a raid on the suspected heroin dealer for Phillip Seymour Hoffman entered a no-jail plea this week in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Max Rosenblum, 22, was in the apartment of Robert Vineberg when police burst in after Hoffman was found dead on February 5, 2014.
The DJ and his girlfriend, Juliana Luchkiw, a student at the New School, were both arrested.
Police reportedly found about 350 glassine envelopes with what appeared to be heroin inside in three apartments in the building.
Judge Edward McLaughlin cautioned Rosenblum in court, reported the New York Post.
“Rather than getting a prison sentence, you are getting two years’ probation,” he said. “You could have received a prison sentence and it could have been as a high as a year.”
Rosenblum also has to attend outpatient drug rehab classes.
“Max was blessed today with a second chance to remain at liberty and focus on rehabilitation, education and his bright future,” said defense lawyer Daniel Hochheiser. “There has never been a relationship between my client and Philip Seymour Hoffman.”
Vineberg has yet to go on trail in the case.
