Percy Harvin’s benign tumor was removed during the offseason, reports say. During a procedure, doctors found Harvin had a benign tumor.

Harvin made his debut for the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday in a drubbing over his former team, the Minnesota Vikings.

ESPN reported that the tumor was related to an appendectomy in November.

“I’ve been through a lot besides the hip surgery,” he told ESPN. ‘‘So it was an enjoyable feeling to get back out there. I wanted to see where I was at. Today was the test everyone wanted to see. I don’t see any more setbacks. I’m looking to take off from here.”

According to the Seattle Times, Harvin was lobbying to return kickoffs on Sunday, but Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was hesitant until wide receiver Jermaine Kearse was injured.

When Harvin was inserted into the game, the Seattle crowd roared

“It’s been a work in progress all week long,” Harvin told the Times. “I’ve been having some of the teammates yell at him, some of the coaching staff. But he came to me before the game, and he let me know that he didn’t feel real comfortable with me doing it this game, but I kept drilling him and drilling him.”
