Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday said she is "so sorry" after Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) had tested positive for COVID-19.
"I'm asymptomatic and I don't have of the symptoms that are listed, but apparently I have the Wuhan virus," Gohmert said, referring to Wuhan, China, where the virus first originated late last year.
Gohmert said he was wearing a mask at a House Judiciary Committee with Attorney General William Barr.
In a Twitter post, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Nadler (D-N.Y.) wrote, "I want to wish @replouiegohmert a full & speedy recovery. When individuals refuse to take the necessary precautions it puts everyone at risk. I’ve regularly instructed all members to wear their masks and hope this is a lesson by all my colleagues."
Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec told news outlets that Barr will be tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
