Movie ‘Zootopia’ in the Park
August 5
Gates open at 7:00 p.m., screening starts around 8:30 p.m.
The Orange County Department of Parks is showing ‘Zootopia’ on a large, inflatable screen. Live music will be featured prior to the start of the movie. There will be games for the kids, prizes, giveaways, and an information booth provided by the Orange County Health Department. Popcorn, soda, and other refreshments will be available for purchase. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be promoting their free children ID program Operation Safe Child. Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and to arrive early. Rain date is Aug. 12.

Annual Otisville Community Yard Sale

The Village of Otisville is holding its annual community yard sale, rain or shine. Yards sales will be around the village and in Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street. Anyone wishing to set up a sale at Veterans Memorial Park must contact Liz at 845-386-1022. Any village resident planning to set up a sale at their house can contact Diane at 845-386-1251 to have their address listed on the official yard sale map. There is no charge for this. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Ken Coppola at 845-386-1138. To ensure everyone’s safety the day of the sale, many streets will be one-way only, with parking allowed on only one side of the street.

Port Jervis Historic House and Garden Tour

Bear Mountain Pow Wow

Bear Mountain Pow Wow is a full contest Pow Wow attracting over 500 Native American artists, educators, singers, dancers, and performing groups from across the Americas. There will be over 40 artist booths selling crafts, jewelry, food, and more. Other highlights of the event include authentic cuisine: buffalo burgers, venison stew and corn soup. Visitors can interact with representatives from tribes of the Lakota, Navajo, Mohawk, Seneca, Cherokee, Aztec, Mayan, Samoan, Hawaiian, and many more. The event will happen rain or shine. Seating is limited, so guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and/or umbrellas. No alcohol, drugs, outside food, drinks, ice or coolers will be allowed on the premises.
