Ohio State Highway Patrol Officer Eric Devers is being called a hero for what he did.

Devers’ dash cam captured him rushing down an embankment near Piqua, Ohio after a truck driver crashed into it. About two minutes later, Devers brings the man up to the highway.

Devers works to give CPR to the man, while urging him to “keep breathing.”

“Don’t you die on me,” he adds. “Come on.”

“Trooper Devers found the driver belted in the driver’s seat, taking low, gasping breaths with eyelids half closed,” the patrol said via Facebook. “After a short amount of time, the driver’s eyes rolled back into his head; he slumped over and quit breathing.”

But the driver John Depue soon began breathing again thanks to Devers, and medical personnel rushed him to the hospital where he made a full recovery.

“In speaking with the family, medical personnel and witnesses at the scene, it is apparent the quick actions of Trooper Devers helped save the driver’s life,” the highway patrol said.
