The Ohio Clock in the U.S. Senate building has stopped ticking amid the government shutdown.
The clock stopped ticking just after noon on Wednesday, reported the CQ Roll Call.
The clock was installed in the Senate chamber in 1919 and was moved to its current location, just outside the chamber, in 1859.
Employees in the Office of the Senate Curator usually wind the clock but that office has been furloughed amid the government shutdown, according to the office of the Secretary of the Senate.
