President Barack Obama was in Ohio Monday, talking to supporters in Cincinnati’s Eden Park about an auto exports complaint the administration filed today against China with the World Trade Organization.

“You can’t stand up to China when all you’ve done is send them our jobs,” Obama said, referring to his Republican rival, Mitt Romney, mocking him over recent claims that if he were president, he would be tough on China. He added, “You can talk a good game, or you can play one,” according to The Hill.

Ohio, a main U.S. automobile manufacturing hub, has long been considered a key battleground state in presidential elections.

Romney accused Obama’s trade complaint of being politically motivated and said the president will not do enough to stop China’s alleged unfair trade practices, saying “his credibility has long since vanished.”

“President Obama has spent 43 months failing to confront China’s unfair trade practices. Campaign-season trade cases may sound good on the stump, but it is too little, too late for American businesses and middle-class families,” Romney’s campaign said in a statement obtained by CNN. It added, “From Day One, I will pursue a comprehensive strategy to confront China’s unfair trade practices.”

Romney is making a fundraising stop in Los Angeles on Monday and will hold fundraising events in Utah, Texas, and later to Florida this week, according to The Associated Press.

Obama will make a stop later this week in Columbus, Ohio, and then will visit New York, Florida, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
