NEW YORK—Police arrested two individuals on Tuesday in connection with a shooting that left two police officers injured in the Bronx late Monday evening.

Surveillance video recovered by police showed two men, Joshua Kemp and Jason Polanco, robbing a deli on East 180th St. and Webster Ave. in the Bronx, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday.

At around the same time, five police officers from the anti-crime unit of the 46th precinct had just ended their day and were about to change out of their uniforms, when they received a call from their patrol sergeant reporting a robbery nearby, said NYPD chief of detectives Robert Boyce at a press conference on Tuesday.

We congratulate those officers on their speedy and excellent work.
