NEW YORK—Enjoying the cuisine of some top North Brooklyn restaurants, Carter Swope was sate already, digesting while praising the selection in a conversation with her friend Caroline Wiest. Their decision to pay some $25 for the experience was alleviated by the knowledge proceeds will help the hip neighborhood to get a new community center.
