Two armed men were inside Noel Middle School in Denver, Colorado early Tuesday morning and authorities feared that they had explosives.
However, police said at about 3:15 a.m. local time that the suspects were taken into custody. No other details were immediately given.
The two men were initially spotted in surveillance tape on the second floor of the school around 10:40 p.m., a police source told Matthew Keys, an independent journalist.
The men were wearing black and carrying firearms.
They had rifles and backpacks, reported ABC. Police were concerned that the men might have explosives.
No evacuations were ordered for nearby neighborhoods, but residents were being told to shelter-in-place.
Denver Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Warneke said police sent a telephone notification to neighborhood residents around Noel Middle School warning them to stay indoors.
