A 24-year-old New Mexico man was caught drunk driving with three young children in the car, including an infant.
According to KOAT-TV, Deputies Roger Garcia and Sam Rodriquez came upon the scene to find the 2-month-old wasn’t buckled into her car seat.
Meanwhile, the children told the two deputies they could not remember the last time they had eaten.
Garcia and Rodriquez told KOAT they mixed formula for the 2-month-old infant by flashlight.

“I’ve always baby-sat since I was a kid, but I’ve never done it with a gun on my belt in the passenger seat of a patrol car with a rifle next to me,” said Rodriguez.
“What hurt me the most is when we asked (about the last time they ate), they couldn’t remember. And they were hungry,” Garcia added.
Three other deputies went to McDonald’s to get more food for the children.
The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department posted the deputies’ response on its Facebook page. “Thank you to Deputies R. Garcia and S. Rodriguez for caring for an infant that was inside a drunk driver’s vehicle!” it said.
“It was a bunch of cops in uniform trying to make a bottle on the side of the road. We had a cold water bottle and we’re trying to use our heater to warm up the water for him,” said Rodriguez.
They also changed dirty diapers.
“It was really hard to be professional when we had such strong opinions about the morality of the situation. We really tried to keep it together for the welfare of the kids. We tried to be happy with them and give them a secure feeling,” Rodriguez said.
