Mercedes-Benz introduced its new models at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) on March 23.

“2016 is our year of the dream cars and New York is the perfect place to talk about them,” said Ola Källenius,  a Daimler AG executive.

Mercedes broke records in the United States in January and February with sales rising 20 percent and 16 percent, respectively. The Company remains bullish for 2016.

One of the reasons to remain positive: Mercedes added its new GLC Coupé, an “exceptionally sporty dream car” to the growing portfolio of Mercedes-Benz SUVs. The new GLC Coupé has eight model variants. Customers can choose between four diesel and four petrol engines, including a plug-in hybrid and a performance model from Mercedes-AMG.

“Mercedes-Benz is clearly focused on customer orientation and the further expansion of its model line-up—we already have the youngest and broadest portfolio on the entire U.S. market,” said Dietmar Exler, President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA.

“Our AMG performance brand is expanding its product range with the forthcoming 43 models. This sets the stage perfectly for continued market success in the United States,” said Exler at the auto show.

The German Singer Grace Capristo presented her new song “One Woman Army” during the introduction of the new GLC Coupé at Jacob Javits Convention Center.

The 2017 CLA will be available in U.S. dealerships in the third quarter of 2016.

According to the company’s press release, features of the CLA include an enhanced facelift with new front and rear bumpers as well as new light-alloy wheel designs. The interior also boasts numerous enhancements, among them new seat covers and trim parts, as well as chrome-plated controls.

LED High-Performance headlamps, HANDS-FREE ACCESS and further possibilities for integrating smartphones into the control system are all options for more safety and comfort.

The addition of Active Brake Assist as a standard feature further strengthens the CLA’s credentials as a leader in its class, as does HANDS-FREE ACCESS, an optional convenience feature.

The Mercedes-AMG CLA45 features dynamic styling and a further upgraded interior. With a peak performance of 375 hp and a maximum torque of 350 lb-ft, the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 4-door Coupe is among the most powerful vehicles in its segment, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
