A storm that is hitting the United Kingdom and Western Europe forced a ferry carrying 1,000 people from Newcastle to Amsterdam has been forced to turn back.
The storm slammed the United Kingdom overnight, killing at least four people, and cutting power to hundreds of thousands. It appears to now be hitting the Netherlands and other European countries.

The port of IJmuiden was also closed due to the storm.
The ship left England at 5 p.m. on Sunday and was slated to hit Amsterdam on 9:30 a.m.
