Burglar Found Trapped in Chimney
A trip down the chimney may work for Santa Clause but not everyone.A man in St. Louis found out the hard way when he was found on Wednesday morning wedged in the chimney of a pawn shop. According to police, the man was attempting to rob the store by entering through the chimney.
Authorities received a call at 3 a.m. from the shop. After three hours, rescuers were able to knock the bricks away and free the man.
He was later taken to the hospital for evaluation.
New Poll Finds Americans Believe in Angels, Not Evolution
A new poll has found that more Americans believe in angels, hell and the devil than Darwin’s theory of evolution.According to the poll, over 80 percent of Americans believe in the existence of God. Over 75 percent believe in miracles, 73 and 71 percent believe in heaven and angels respectively.
Only 47 percent of the respondents believe in the theory of evolution.
What also came as a surprise was the sizable minority of the population who believes in the supernatural and UFOs. According to the poll, 44 percent of the people surveyed believe in ghosts, 34 percent say they believe UFOs exists, and nearly a quarter believe in reincarnation.
The poll was conducted by Harris Interactive. Over 2,126 U.S. adults were surveyed online between November 10 and 17, 2008.
Jack in the Box Burger Tops Unhealthy List
Jack in the Box is rated to have the unhealthiest “value menu” item offered in a fast food chain says dieticians at the Cancer Project.The non-profit watchdog group examined value menus from five fast food chains and found that many of the items offered are loaded with saturated fats, sodium and other ingredients that may increase risk of heart disease and diabetes.
The Jack in the Box bacon cheeseburger is listed as number one with over 400 calories, 23 grams of fat and only 1 gram of fiber.
Taco Bell came in second with its Cheesy Double Beef Burrito. Other offenders listed by the Cancer Project include Burger King’s breakfast sausage biscuit and McDonald’s McDouble Cheeseburger.
