NEW YORK—Relatives of the mother and four children who were stabbed to death in their Sunset Park apartment on Oct. 26 will arrive in New York on Nov. 6, from Mainland China.

The mother, older brother, and older sister of 29-year-old Li Qiaozhen applied for visas at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou on Nov. 4, and booked their flights to New York City as soon as they received them.

Zhuo Yilin, the husband and father of the victims, was at work in a restaurant in Long Island at the time of the murders. His mother and little sister have also applied for U.S. visas, and are expected to fly from Fuzhou some time later in the week.

Mingdong Chen, 25, an illegal immigrant, and cousin of the father of the murdered children, was found on the scene shortly after the killings of Li Qiaozhen, 37, and her children, Linda Zhuo, 9; Amy Zhuo, 7; Kevin Zhuo, 5; and 18-month-old William Zhuo.

Chen’s bare feet were covered with blood. Police said he had stabbed and slashed the necks and torsos of the victims, but had attempted to suffocate the youngest child before killing the child with a knife.

“It’s a scene you’ll never forget,” said Chief of Department Philip Banks III.

Chen, who had been staying with the family in their apartment for 10 days, according to court documents, was indicted Friday, Nov. 1.

He was charged with five counts of murder in the first degree, five counts of murder in the second degree, and charges related to the assault on two police officers serving as translators while he was being interviewed in the 66th Precinct Station House in Brooklyn, early in the morning on Oct. 27.
