Mother’s Day in 2014 is coming up around the world though there are different dates for different countries--and even different names, such as Mothering Sunday in the United Kingdom.

Mothering Sunday is on Sunday, March 30 this year.

Mother’s Day in the U.S., meanwhile, falls on Sunday, May 11.

That is the same date as many countries around the world, including India, the Philippines, and South Africa.

Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, and many Central and South American and European countries also have Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May.

On the other hand, most Middle Eastern countries celebrate the day on March 21 and others, as well as most Asian countries, celebrate the day on March 8.

Some other countries, including Algeria, the Dominican Republic, France, Haiti, and Senegal celebrate the day on the last Sunday of June (sometimes it’s the first Sunday of June if it’s Pentecost).

Several other countries that have unique dates are Kenya (last Sunday in June), Costa Rica (August 15), Russia (last Sunday in November), Indonesia (December 22).
