Chrissy Corbitt, a mother of four, had thought she'd seen it all when it came to childbirth.
She was wrong.
The Florida woman noticed that early in the pregnancy, her baby was going to be quite large.
“The belly was getting bigger and bigger. It was like she had a huge beach ball and it was getting more and more inflated,” said her husband, Larry.
Even though her previous four kids were larger than average, she wasn’t prepared for her fifth.
Delivered by C-section, Carleigh Corbitt weighed 13 pounds, 5 ounces, shocking doctors, Chrissy, and Larry alike.
She said when the doctors were examining Carleigh, “I just start hearing them all laughing and excited in the operating room.”
“They were throwing out numbers and when they showed her to me and said 13.5 I couldn’t believe it,” Chrissy recalled.
“It was so funny because she had a C-section so all the blankets were over her so you couldn’t see what was going on,” Larry Corbitt added. “The doctor said, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s going to be 15-pounds.’ I remember the doctor saying, ‘I don’t think this baby is going to end. Are there two of them?’”
“Her cheeks were so chunky and she was just so fat. She was so gorgeous, of course,” he added.
The parents said they had to buy extra-large diapers and buy new clothes.
The baby was born healthy despite pregnancy complications., reports said.
Chrissy said, “She’s just a happy baby, she smiles all the time,” Chrissy said. “I can’t get enough of her.”
The parents promised Carleigh will be their last child.
‘Real-Life Popeye’
A man who was born with unusually large forearms has put his natural talents to good use.Jeff Dabe’s baby photo even revealed the size of his arms and hands.
So it’s no surprise that when he reached adulthood, Dabe began arm-wrestling and got the nickname “Popeye.”
“I was always good at arm wrestling, but the size of my hands did shock people at first,” Dabe told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “I had the strength to back it up.”
In 1986, he was forced to stop his arm-wrestling career. Dabe, a heavy equipment operator and father of three, began competing again in 2012 after entering a bar tournament.
