Three children were injured after a car crashed into the Garderie Face a Face daycare in Laval, located north of Montreal.

The driver and three children with minor injuries have been transferred to the Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur as a precaution,” Laval police spokesperson Franco Di Genova told GlobalNews.

Officials told the website that the driver of the car was about 80 years old. He said the driver have believed the car was put in reverse but then accelerated. 

The driver also was taken to the hospital.

The CBC reported at around 2:15 p.m. that the accident took place.

The car smashed through the window of the daycare center.

The daycare center is located on the Boulevard Saint-Martin, reported Radio Canada. One of the building’s windows was smashed.

Two ambulances were called and firefighters are also on the scene.
