U.S. Rep. Billy Long (R-Mo.) is entering the crowded race for U.S. Senate in Missouri in hopes of succeeding Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), who isn’t seeking reelection, the Republican congressman said on Aug. 3.

“I am entering the race for the United States Senate. I followed Roy Blunt into the House. I have his congressional seat,” Long said as he announced his candidacy on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show. “I want to follow him into the Senate.”
