The hunt for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 will likely take months, but Malaysia’s defense minister is confident the plane will be found.

Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said that Malaysia is committed to finding the plane after it disappeared with 239 people on board in March.

“We must continue to hope because sometimes hope is all we have,” Hishammuddin said, according to Emirates247.com. He gave an interview in the Western Australian port of Fremantle to inspect one of the government-commissioned search ships, the GO Phoenix.

“We will fine MH370,” he said, adding that the people on board the plane “remain in our thoughts and also in our prayers.”

The Australian-contracted Fugro Equator has been mapping the seafloor since May and it finished the process this week.

“All that could have been done to find the plane at this point has been done,” Hishammuddin said. “This is it, the next phase. The search goes on.”
