According to the White House, first lady Michelle Obama will visit Mexico City, Mexico, from April 13-15.
The trip will be her first solo official trip as first lady, in “recognition of the deep ties between the United States and Mexico.”
Officials at the White House says that her agenda will “amplify the president’s commitment to advancing mutual interests, mutual respect, and mutual responsibility between nations and peoples around the world.” During the visit, she will interact with the citizens of Mexico, particularly the youth. She will also talk with Mexican first lady Margarita Zavala de Calderon about education and economic advancement in both countries.
