Mets outfielder Jason Bay visited a doctor Monday and will see another doctor Tuesday after suffering a concussion Friday from falling into Citi Field’s wall, according to a report on the team’s website.

The 33-year-old Bay has been resting while waiting for concussion-related symptoms to clear up.

“I don’t think we know how serious it is yet,” general manager Sandy Alderson said. “We may not know for at least a few days.”

Bay, who is hitting just .187 this season, missed six weeks earlier this year with a fractured rib and in 2010 missed more than two months with a concussion.

When he'll return this time is unknown.

“In this case, I think you’ve got to let things settle down a little bit before you make an evaluation about when somebody’s going to come back,” Alderson said.
