Marco Reus, the German footballer, is still injured and he won’t be joining FC Barcelona, contrary to rumors about him.

Reus is expected to miss all of the World Cup for Germany.

“Marco Reus will be out longer than expected. The 25-year old will have to take a break until September,” Borussia Dortmund official website reads.

He tore ankle ligaments during a friendly with Armenia earlier this month.

The “[BVB team doctor] Dr Markus Braun expects a downtime of three months,” the statement reads.

Reus made 44 appearances for Dortmund last season and scored 23 goals.

There were rumors that he would join FC Barcelona, but Dortmund shot those down.

“Marco Reus will not be joining FC Barcelona this summer,” the statement reads.

Germany leads Portugal 3-0 at halftime

SALVADOR, Brazil (AP) — Thomas Mueller scored twice on either side of Mats Hummels’s headed goal asGermany took a 3-0 lead at halftime of its opening World Cup Group G match against 10-man Portugal on Monday.

Mueller opening the scoring after Mario Gietze had been pulled down by Joao Pereira in the box, coolly slotting the penalty kick into the right corner of Rui Patricio’s goal.

Mueller got tangled with Pepe in the 37th minute and the Portugal defender was sent off for apparently head-butting the German player as he sat on the ground.

Before that, Hummels had risen above Pepe to double Germany’s lead with a well-timed header from a corner in the 32nd-minute.

Mueller scored again just before the break.

Cristiano Ronaldo started for Portugal at Arena Fonte Nova after overcoming a knee injury.
